Your privacy and data security are of the utmost importance to us. We will automatically redact and aggregate information that is not necessary for this study, in your web browser, before it is ever sent to us.

Please follow the steps below to download your data from Twitter/X and upload your zipped Twitter/X data archive to our research server.

On desktop, click on 'More' at bottom left. On narrower screens, the menu may only display an icon with three dots, without the word 'More'. On mobile devices, scroll down until you see 'Settings and privacy.'

Click 'Settings and privacy.'

Click 'Download archive.' Note where the file, named twitter_xxxxxx.zip, downloaded on your computer.

Below, click 'Choose File.' You will be prompted to select the zip file on your computer. Code built into this webpage will automatically check that you have selected the correct file and filter out information that is unnecessary for this study. If you would like to see the exact data that we will receive from your web browser, it will be available in the text box below before you submit it to us.
